Olympic chiefs have banned smoking in ticketed areas, which is expected to include the102-hectare London Olympic Park during the 2012 Games.
The ban also applies to fans watching rowing at Dorney Lake, Buckimhamshire, sailing off the Dorset coast, equestrian events at London’s Green-wich Park, archery at Lord’s and beach volleyball at Horse Guards Parade.

An Olympics spokesperson said smoking would not be allowed in any of the ticketed areas.
He however, said, it would be impossible to impose the smoking ban on non-ticketed areas.
“Whether we will have any designated smoking areas is still under discussion,” the Daily Star quoted him, as saying.
The anti- smoking group, Action on Smoking Health, said the ban made “perfect sense”.
“I can understand if people are sitting side by side but not a ban in open areas or open concourses,” a smokers’ lobby group Forest member Simon Clark said.
