In accordance with a press announcement provided by the World Medical Association, the World Medical Association intends to prohibit electronic and candy cigarettes, and to hold only the common ones.
As well, in concordance with data, the American Medical Association declared that the tobacco industry is actively promoting electronic cigarettes.
The press announcement informs that the World Medical Association will increase its actions against smoking with suggestion to prohibit the manufacture, expansion and sale of candy cigarettes that describe or are similar to tobacco products.
Council meeting was held in Sydney, Australia during 3 days on April, 7-9. In the course of that meeting, the World Medical Association delegates admitted to suggest to their annual Assembly in October proposals to improve the anti tobacco policy of organization to fight against actions of the tobacco industry to make their cigarettes more attractive to teenagers. Delegates indicated that the World Medical Association must prolong its policy including limitations on smokeless tobacco and tobacco-derived products, including banning all government subsidies for tobacco-derived products.
Dr. Ardis Hoven, chair of the Board of the American Medical Association, pointed out that the tobacco industry aggressively advertizing new kinds of cigarettes, such as smokeless tobacco and electronic cigarettes in stores and on the internet to attract teenagers. In this case, the World Medical Association should respond heavily.
However, there is the other side of the story. Some journalists indicate that the Medical Association is telling a bare-faced lie and tobacco companies have nothing in common with electronic cigarettes. They neither manufacture nor promote these tobacco products.
Some people say that the Medical Association is telling lie. But the question is that is unclear which Medical Association is lying.
It is still unclear which part is lying – the American Medical Association or the World Medical Association.
The Western Medical Association argues that the American Medical Association chair said that tobacco industry is actively promoting electronic cigarettes. Thus, there are two variants:
1. The American Medical Association is lying about tobacco industry advertizing electronic cigarettes. It is the variant if the American Medical Association chair did really declare this.
2. The Western Medical Association is lying about tobacco industry advertizing electronic cigarettes. It is the variant if the American Medical Association chair did not really declare this.
Furthermore, it seems that the World Medical Association and the American Medical Association are trying to remove electronic cigarettes and protect common cigarettes from any serious rivalry and thus returning to their Camels, Kools, Marlboros, Newports and Salems.
